Since July 2010, US Google searches for “facelift” have steadily increased. Google’s Trends tool measures interest on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 representing the peak search interest (not number of searches). While January 2013 hit 80 and February registered 82, interest in March 2013 reached the century mark.

Even as far back as December 2008, “facelift” has seen a steady increase, with peaks in April 2009 (70) July 2011 (74) and February 2012 (77). Following a slight dip between March and December 2012 (bottoming out at 62), search interest skyrocketed at the start of 2013, peaking in March. Florida (100) led the US, with California and Arizona right on its heels (95).

The increased interest may demonstrate a rise in demand for facelift procedures. It also likely represents the Baby Boomers’ increasing use of the Internet. Plus, I have noticed that more people are becoming familiar with treatments such as dermal fillers and BOTOX® at my Temecula Valley practice. This appears to be the case across the US, which creates awareness of and interest in surgical procedures such as facelift.
